SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 17, 2017) –At least one person was killed and three others were injured after an accident on Friday afternoon at the intersection of the 15 Freeway and Mira Mesa Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:15 p.m., on the 15 Freeway near Mira Mesa Boulevard. A car hydroplaned across the southbound side of Interstate 15 and struck a Geo Prism, causing the Prism to be struck by a minivan. A white Ford truck was also involved in the accident and possibly a second sedan. 68-year-old Rogelio Colchero was a passenger in the Geo Prism and was tragically declared dead at the scene. Three others reported injuries in the accident and were hospitalized in unknown condition.
The accident is currently under active investigation.
