RIVERSIDE: Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Truck Accident on Market Street South of University Avenue

“Investigation Ongoing”

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (April 2, 2017) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on Market Street, just south of University Avenue. (map)

The crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. The pedestrian was crossing the street from the east to the west side of Market Street, when a southbound truck traveling 25/30 mph, struck the pedestrian.

Police and fire personal arrived at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to Riverside Community Hospital. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Riverside Police are currently investigating the accident.

“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
