RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – One person was killed and four more were injured on Monday evening after a small plane crashed into a neighborhood in Riverside shortly after takeoff, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. near the Riverside Airport. A Cessna 310 that had just taken off from the airport suddenly nose dived after a turn, crashing into a house on Rhonda Road near the airport. The plane and the home immediately burst into flames.
At least one person has been confirmed killed in the accident, and four were injured. At this time, it is unknown whether all parties were inside the plane, or whether some were inside the house. The accident remains under investigation at this time by the FAA and the NTSB.
