PERRIS, CALIFORNIA (June 4, 2017) – A 30-year-old Corona man was involved in a vehicle collision on Cajalco Road near Mead Valley early Sunday morning according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. The 30-year-old motorist, traveling eastbound on Cajalco Road just west of Wood Road in a 1995 Honda, was struck head-on by a 1997 Subaru traveling westbound. The driver of the Honda died in the collision.
The driver of he Subaru, later identified as 23-year-old Eric Bahena along with his female passenger, were transported to the hospital. The female passenger later succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the female passenger has not yet been released.
Bahena sustained major injuries and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. An investigation is ongoing.
