Drunk Driver Plows Through Home at 3200 Tangerine Way, Three People Injured
A drunk driver plowed through a residence located in Riverside at the 3200 block of Tangerine Way, leaving three people injured in its wake. At approximately 3 a.m., a family of three, including a child, were asleep inside their home. Daniel Garcia drove his Toyota truck into their one-story home, The force of the impact was so great, that their bed was pushed through a closet and into the next bedroom, and then into the living room.
All three of the family members sustained injuries. The young child, a baby, was found injured underneath the pickup truck. The crash left a huge hole in the front of the home. Riverside Fire Battalion Chief Bruce Vanderhorst stated that the damage caused to the home was so great that it was considered uninhabitable and that the home had to be shored in order to keep it stabilized.
Garcia was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside with bail set at $50,000.
“It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. Drunk drivers continue to endanger the safety of all other drivers,” said a California car accident and personal injury attorney.
