RIO LINDA, CALIFORNIA (March 16, 2017) – Five people were involved in a two car head-on collision on Wednesday near the Elkhorn Moose Lodge, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The head-on accident occurred at the intersection of E St and Rio Linda Boulevard. Some victims of the collision sustained major injuries. The extent of the injuries for others involved in the accident were not released, according to police officials.
A few Good Samaritans provided aid to the victims of the collision until rescue crews arrived. Firefighters used extrication methods to free one of the victims from the vehicle. No other details of the incident were released; an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
