COLUMBUS, OHIO (July 26, 2017) – A malfunctioning ride at the Ohio State Fair killed one person and injured seven others on Wednesday, including 42 year old Russell Franks. (map)
Russell Franks was with over a dozen people on board the “Fire Ball” ride on Wednesday evening. The ride, a pendulum style attraction that spins, malfunctioned around 7:30. Witnesses at the scene said they saw someone fly off the ride, and the ride was then immediately shut down. The abrupt stop may have caused one of the chair arms of the ride to fly off, causing more injuries.
An 18 year old boy was killed, and 42 year old Russell Franks was injured along with six other people. The ride has been shut down as an investigation continues into the tragic accident.
“We wish a swift and steady recovery to Russell Franks after this horrible accident. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at our firm is with the injured victim at this time,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
