RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA (May 4, 2017) – A woman was killed and a child was seriously injured in a crash on Thursday morning on Peach Orchard Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:40 am on Peach Orchard Road, also known as Highway 25, near Mims Road. A yellow flatbed semi truck was heading south on Peach Orchard Road when a northbound SUV carrying three people crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into the semi-truck.
The female driver of the SUV was tragically pronounced dead in the accident. A child in the SUV was ejected after the collision, and was hospitalized along with a male passenger from the SUV. The driver of the semi-truck sustained injuries, possibly a broken arm. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
