REDWAY, CALIFORNIA (March 4, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a semi-truck and killed on Redwood Drive, near Redway Drive, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 8:17 pm on Redwood Drive near Redway Drive. A pedestrian was reportedly walking in the northbound lanes when he was struck by a southbound Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a 33 year old man.

The pedestrian, identified only as a 50 year old man, was rushed to Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead the next day. The driver of the semi truck, Leroy Thomas, was cleared for DUI and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
