The accident happened around 5:39 am at the intersection of California Street and West Park Avenue. A pedestrian was struck by a Dodge SUV at the intersection, and it is not known if the pedestrian was inside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries, and the SUV reportedly sustained damages as well from the impact. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
