RAYMONDVILLE: 16 Hospitalized in Prison Bus Rollover Accident on FM 186 near Spence County Road

RAYMONDVILLE, TEXAS (December 16, 2016) – A prison bus rolled over and crashed, injuring sixteen people on Friday morning off of TX-186, according to local news sources. (map)

The accident happened just before 7:30 am on Highway 186 near Spence County Road. A prison inmate bus traveling from the Segovia-Lopez Complex to the Willacy Facility was involved in an accident. The bus swerved to avoid a jackknifed trailer on the road and ended up rolling over and hitting a nearby pole.

16 inmates were injured in the accident, with several being taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center, and some to Harlingen Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
