ST JOSEPH, MISSOURI (December 2, 2017) – A St. Joseph man was killed on Saturday after a homemade ultralight plane crashed near JJ Highway, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 3:00 pm. A homemade ultralight plane crashed in a cornfield near JJ Highway, about 5 miles south of St. Joseph. The plane’s operator, 65 year old Randal K. Reynolds, was the only one on board at the time.
Randal was tragically confirmed to have been killed in the accident. The crash remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. This was the third ultralight crash this weekend worldwide, and the second fatality as the result of a homemade aircraft in the US.
