RACINE: Rev. Mark D. Gates Seriously Injured after Ford Mustang and Garbage Truck Collide

RACINE, WISCONSIN (December 14, 2016) – A Ford Mustang and a garbage truck were involved in a collision on Wednesday morning that injured a city employee named Mark Gates, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:50 am at the intersection of Washington Avenue near Illinois Street and Indiana Street. A Ford Mustang was seen weaving in and out of traffic before slamming into the back of a garbage truck, pinning the Reverend Mark D. Gates, who is a city employee, between the two vehicles.

Reverend Gates was rushed from the scene to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa in critical condition. Someone at the scene was allegedly arrested by local authorities as well. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
