PRICE COUNTY: Six Killed in Plane Crash near State Highway 111 and U.S. Highway 8

“Investigation Ongoing”

PRICE COUNTY, WISCONSIN (July 1, 2017) – A small plane crashed on Saturday morning near the town of Harmony, according to a local news source. (map)

The plane, described as a Cessna 421, took off from Chicago and was en route to Canada on a fishing trip. Six adults were on board when the plane crashed around 3:21 am near State Highway 111 and U.S. Highway 8 in the town of Harmony.

All six on board the plane were tragically killed in the crash. Two have been unofficially identified as Thomas DeMauro, a PE teacher from Tioga Elementary School in Bensenville, Illinois, and a maintenance director for the school district, Charles “Chuck” Tomlitz. Thomas DeMauro’s adult son Kyle DeMauro was also reportedly on board at the time of the accident.

Initial reports indicate that just before the plane dropped off the radar, the pilot was on the radio with a local air traffic controller about “local weather phenomenon”.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
