PORT ORANGE, FLORIDA (December 27, 2016) – Two people were killed in a tragic accident in Port Orange, Florida on Tuesday when a small plane crashed in a neighborhood off Taxiway Lindy Loop, according to local news sources. (map)

A 2009 Epic LT single engine plane crashed shortly before landing, ending up in a yard off 22 Taxiway Lindy Loop. The plane narrowly missed striking several homes in the area when it crashed.

The pilot and passenger were both confirmed to have been killed in the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability, and the NTSB is looking into the accident as well.
