PLATTE CITY, MISSOURI (May 12, 2017) – Three people were killed in a multi car accident on Interstate 29 on Friday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 29, near the interchange with Missouri 92. A GMC Envoy was rear ended by a pickup truck, and the impact pushed the Envoy into the back of a semi truck without a trailer. The GMC then overturned onto its roof.
A man and two women from inside the GMC were all tragically killed. The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck, as well as the driver of the semi truck were all injured and were hospitalized in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
