PITTSBURG, CALIFORNIA (February 7, 2017) – A 22 year old woman was struck by a car on Tuesday morning in the 700 block of Willow Pass Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:59 am on Willow Pass Road near Nantucket Drive. A 22 year old woman was crossing the street inside a marked crosswalk when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
The woman was rushed to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek for treatment of her injuries. The driver that struck her remained at the scene and is cooperating with local authorities in their investigation. Initial reports indicate drugs and alcohol are not factors in the accident.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
