Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 126
PIRU, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – One person was killed and at least eight were injured in a multiple-vehicle collision on Highway 126 near Center Street on Monday afternoon, reported the Ventura County Star. (map)
The accident occurred at about 3:23 p.m. Monday where Center Street intersects with Highway 126, also known as Telegraph Road.
The deceased victim has been identified as 41-year-old Maria Paniagua.
At least eight other people were injured in the wreck that involved five vehicles.
One victim was airlifted to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in critical condition; a second patient was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries; and a third patient was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
