The accident happened around 8:54 pm on Highway 88 near Ridge Road. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle identified as a black Honda of unknown model.
The pedestrian was found lying in the roadway by responding authorities, who rushed the injured party to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. The pedestrian reportedly sustained major injuries in the crash and was in serious condition. It is not known at this time whether the involved car remained at the scene or not, and the investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
