PHOENIX, ARIZONA (June 6, 2017) – At least two people were killed in a wrong way accident on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:45 pm on the eastbound side of Interstate 10. A man in a red sedan entered the eastbound lanes traveling the wrong direction, and began heading west. He drove onto the connector ramp to State Route 51, and collided head on with a white vehicle that was heading south.
The driver of the wrong way vehicle and the driver of the white car were both tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of their injuries. A third vehicle was also involved, and the driver of that car escaped with minor to moderate injuries. The accident remains under open investigation at this time.
