PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA (September 4, 2017) – Three people were struck by Amtrak trains over the weekend in Philadelphia, according to a local news source. (map)
The first accident happened on Saturday when a teenager heading to the Made in America festival was grazed by an Amtrak in Malvern. The second accident was on Sunday, when a pedestrian was struck at the Merion station. Then finally, around 7:30 pm on Sunday, a New York bound train struck a pedestrian at the Torresdale Station.
The pedestrian struck at Torresdale Station reportedly was killed as a result of the accident. The other two sustained minor to moderate injuries. The accidents all remain under active investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
