PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA (April 2, 2017) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Sunday evening on Adobe Creek Drive and Ely Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)
An officer was responding to a call of motorcycles speeding up and down the street in the neighborhood of Adobe Creek Drive and Ely Boulevard. The officer located two motorcycles at the scene and attempted a traffic stop, and both motorcycles fled at a high rate of speed down Ely Boulevard. One rider eventually stopped for police, but the other rider continued fleeing before losing control of his motorcycle and crashing.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel. The first motorcyclist that yielded to police was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
