APPLE VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (February 26, 2017) – Emily Sanchez has been identified as the woman killed when she was struck by a car on Kiowa Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night on Kiowa Road, near Yucca Loma Road and Rancherias. 18-year-old Emily Sanchez was attempting to move a dead cat from the road when she was struck by a Nissan Altima.

Emily Sanchez was rushed to a hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
