21 Year Old Hit by Tow Truck and Killed on Highway 74 near Seventh Street

PERRIS, CALIFORNIA (November 16, 2017) – A 21 year old was hit by a tow truck and killed on Highway 74 in Perris on Thursday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 6:00 am on Highway 74 near Seventh Street. A tow truck was traveling northbound on the freeway, when a woman wearing dark clothing running southbound on the edge of the freeway suddenly veered into traffic slightly. The tow truck was unable to stop in time and struck the woman.

The woman, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The tow truck driver, a man from Lake Elsinore, pulled over immediately and cooperated with authorities. The investigation is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
