Javier Placencia, Jr. Charged with Vehicular Manslaughter
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA (December 10, 2016) – A woman died and the driver was arrested after a tragic, single-vehicle crash on Seco Street in Pasadena over the weekend, reported the Pasadena Star News.
At about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Pasadena police were called to the scene of a car accident and found a 2007 Ford Edge crashed into a light pole in the 900 block of Seco Street near Prospect Boulevard. (map)
Maria Luciana Gomez, 52, of Pasadena, was a passenger in the Ford. Tragically, Maria Gomez died at a hospital at 6:25 a.m..
Pasadena police arrested the driver, Javier Placencia, Jr., 38, of Pasadena, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Police believe alcohol was a factor in this deadly collision.
Javier Placencia, Jr. was placed into custody at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
