PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA (March 2, 2017) – A semi-truck driver was injured after crashing into an overpass on Highway 101 on Thursday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:52 pm on the southbound side of Highway 101. A semi-truck crashed into the Embarcadero Road overpass for an unknown reason, causing significant damage to both the truck and the overpass.
The semi truck driver was injured, and was hospitalized in unknown condition. The overpass sustained significant damage in the accident, and CalTrans is evaluating it at this time. The accident remains under investigation. At this time, it is unknown if the overpass had clearly posted signs indicating the maximum safe height.
