PALMDALE, CALIFORNIA (December 25, 2016) – A Palmdale Sheriff’s Deputy was injured in a collision on Sunday on Palmdale Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 3:20 am on Palmdale Boulevard near 75th Street East. Several deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Department were responding to a car accident at the scene and were directing traffic with a 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by 41 year old Shanita Latrice Williams broadsided the patrol car.

A deputy inside the patrol car suffered a broken elbow and was rushed to a hospital. Shanita Latrice Williams was arrested for DUI and is being held on $100,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing.
