LAFD arrived at the scene at approximately 12:19 p.m. along with sheriff deputies to find a number of people stung by bees. Five ambulances were dispatched to the scene to aid in the treatment of bee stings, according to Inspector Richard Licon.
The number of students that were sung by the bees rose from 3 to 43 as students continued to exit stating they had been stung. A firefighter was found spraying the front entrance of the high school.
The cause of the swarm was due to the angering of bees that built a nest in the classroom over the summer, according to Fire Inspector Joey Marron
