OXFORD, IOWA (April 7, 2017) – A Piper Cherokee single engine plane crashed near Oxford on Friday, tragically killing both people on board the plane according to a local news source. (map)
The plane, a 1965 Piper Cherokee 180, took off from the Green Castle Airport on Friday afternoon. For an unknown reason, it crashed around 3:00 pm in a field near 2383 IWV Road near Oxford.
70 year old Terry Koehn, and 56 year old James Spicer were both tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The two were reportedly the only two people on board the small plane when it crashed, and it is unknown which of the two was piloting the aircraft. The small airplane crash remains under investigation.
