OROVILLE, CALIFORNIA (January 28, 2017) – 65 year old Karl Keyes was killed in a hit and run accident on Saturday morning on Olive Highway, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 2:20 am on the eastbound side of Olive Highway near Kampong Court. 65 year old Karl Keyes was riding his bicycle eastbound when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene.

Karl Keyes was tragically declared dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities are still attempting to find the hit and run suspect, and are describing the vehicle as a white or light colored SUV that may have been Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban. The vehicle is also described as having a missing headlight. The investigation is ongoing.
