Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident
OROSI, CALIFORNIA (December 14, 2016) – An elderly man walking across Highway 63 was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Tuesday morning, reported the Visalia Times. (map)
The victim, identified as Camilo Tovar, 83, and his wife were headed to the Memorial Hall in the center of town for breakfast.
Shortly after 6:15 a.m., the couple were walking across Highway 63 – also known as Road 128 – at Miller Avenue. A speeding vehicle struck Camilo Tovar and missed his wife who was walking in front of him.
CHP alerted Orange Cove and Reedley police to be on the lookout for the hit-and-run vehicle, described by witnesses as a dark-colored sedan, make and model unknown.
Tragically, Camilo Tovar died as a result of the crash.
