ORCUTT, CALIFORNIA (February 6, 2017) – One person was killed and two were injured in a rollover crash on Highway 135 near Lakeview Road on Monday morning, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:30 am on Monday on Highway 135 near Lakeview Road. A 2016 Lexus driven by a 25 year old man was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a turn and flew off the road, striking a fence and a concrete bench before rolling over onto Orcutt Road, blocking both lanes.
A rear seat passenger, identified as 37 year old Leann Stauffer, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. 37 year old Tricia Jensen was trapped inside the vehicle and once extricated, was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. A front seat passenger identified as 38 year old Brian Freeborn suffered a head injury but refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 25 year old Cameron Oliver, was uninjured in the crash and was arrested for driving under the influence. The accident remains under open investigation at this time.
