The accident happened around 4:40 pm near the 7300 block of Pacific Coast Highway. An ultralight attempting to return to the Camarillo airport crashed into the water about 150 yards from Mugu Rock. Campers in the area saw the crash, and two of the campers swam out to assist the two men inside the ultralight.

One of the men from the ultralight was unconscious when he was pulled from the water, and despite extensive resuscitative efforts, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The second man was also hospitalized and suffered minor to moderate injuries. The crash remains under investigation at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
