
“Navy Member Killed”
OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA (January 21, 2017) – An active duty member of the United States Navy was killed in a tragic accident on Saturday on Highway 76, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 4:30 pm on the eastbound side of Highway 76 near Foussat Road. 43 year old Victor Velez got out of his car on the shoulder after experiencing a mechanical issue, and was hit by an oncoming box truck.
Victor Velez was rushed to Tri-City hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and died. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
