OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA (December 30, 2016) – An Oceanside Police officer was injured after he was hit by a car on Friday night on Douglas Drive, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:40 pm on Douglas Drive near Pala Road. The accident occurred when an Oceanside Police Officer stopped a 2004 red Toyota Corolla for a traffic violation. The occupant of the Toyota Corolla, identified only as a 40 year old man, was not compliant and drove away, striking the officer and his patrol car.
The officer was tended to at the scene by responding paramedics and sustained injuries to his leg. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call the Oceanside Police Department.
