The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. on the westbound side of State Route 76 near Foussat Road. A 42-year-old man was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson and lane splitting between vehicles in stop and go traffic with he lost control on the rain slicked road and struck two cars, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as Chad Michael Gayda, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability, but initial reports indicate the wet road conditions were a contributing factor.
