OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2017) – Max Henry Heyer was killed and another man was injured after they were struck by a train on Monday in a pedestrian accident, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:26 pm on the tracks running parallel to South Coast Highway near Oceanside Boulevard and Morse Street. A southbound Amtrak train noticed two pedestrians near the track and attempted to stop, but struck both men.
22 year old Max Henry Heyer was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. His companion sustained major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation at this time.
