The accident happened on Wednesday evening, just after a small plane described as a Beechcraft Musketeer BE23 took off from the Odell Williamson Municipal Airport. Shortly after takeoff, the small plane crashed into the woods around 7:10 pm, near The Retreat at Ocean Isle Beach.
The two occupants of the plane both sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital, but their current condition is unknown at this time. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability, and the FAA is already on scene.
