OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (February 11, 2017) – A tire reportedly struck a windshield and injured one person in a two car accident on the 880 Freeway on Saturday afternoon, according to a local new source. (map)

The accident happened around 1:46 pm at the intersection of the 880 Freeway and High Street. A silver Honda Civic and another vehicle were involved in an accident for unknown reasons. The impact caused one of the vehicle to lose a wheel, which struck the windshield of the second vehicle. At least one person sustained a serious head injury as a result of the accident, and paramedics responded to the scene to tend to those injured in the accident.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
