Jennifer Morris, a 21 year old woman studying media studies at UC Berkeley, was attending a rave along with her roommate, Vanessa Plotkin, in a warehouse on 31st Avenue on the night of December 2nd. The warehouse, known to many as the “Ghost Ship” was normally used as a live and work space for local artists. It was being used for a rave the night of the fire, which started in the rear and spread quickly.
Jennifer Morris, and her roommate Vanessa Plotkin, were both among the 36 people killed as a result of the fire. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
