OAKLAND: Hanna Ruax Dead after Fire in Ghost Ship Warehouse in Oakland

“Investigation Ongoing”

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (December 20, 2016) – 32 year old Hanna Ruax, a resident of Finland, was one of the 36 people killed in a fire that broke out in an Oakland warehouse on December 2nd, according to several news sources. (map)

The fire started in the rear of the warehouse, known locally as the “Ghost Ship”, and spread quickly due to the intensive clutter inside like paintings, furniture, and rugs. Hanna Ruax was attending a rave that was being hosted in the warehouse, along with her fiancé Alex Ghassan. Hanna Ruax was a jeweler with her own small company, called NANNANDA.

Hanna and Alex were both trapped inside the warehouse when the fire started and were sadly both among the victims killed as a result. The fire remains under investigation at this time.
