OAKLAND: Cyclist Killed Another Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision on 69th Avenue

“Hit-and-Run Fatality”

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (July 18, 2017) – Two bicyclists were involved in a hit-and-run collision on the 1000 block of 69th Avenue near the Oakland Coliseum late Tuesday evening, according to the Oakland Police Department. (map)

The incident occurred at approximately 11:16 p.m. when two cyclists travelling southbound were struck by a vehicle travelling in the same direction, according to police officials. The driver of the vehicle continued driving away from the scene.

One cyclist, identified as a 60-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. The 2nd cyclist, identified as a 57-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police has offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver who fled the scene. Anyone with information may call police at 510-777-8570 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572
