The accident happened around 5:15 am in a parking lot adjacent to the toll plaza. A male Caltrans employee was walking through the parking lot when a female Caltrans employee driving through the same lot struck the man with her car in what authorities are labeling an accident.

The toll collector suffered major injuries, but is believed to be in stable condition. The accident remains under active investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.

“We wish a swift and steady recovery to the Caltrans employee injured in this pedestrian accident in Oakland. Many pedestrian accidents are the fault of the driver, and happen when drivers are not alert and cautious,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law.
