The fire started in the back of an Oakland warehouse known as the Ghost Ship on the night of December 2nd. The warehouse was hosting a rave the night of the fire, which spread rapidly through the warehouse due to intense clutter in the interior. Amanda Kershaw was attending the rave with her friends Johnny Igaz and Chelsea Dolan, who were also killed in the fire.
Amanda Kershaw is survived by her husband, Andy Kershaw, who lost his wife and two of his friends in the fire. The investigation into the fire remains ongoing as authorities attempt to decipher how the fire started.
