NORWALK, CALIFORNIA (April 28, 2017) – Two cars were involved in a collision on the 5 Freeway on Friday, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident happened around 6:26 am on the southbound side of the 5 Freeway near Imperial Highway. A Mercedes and a Toyota Corolla were involved in a collision for an unknown reason, sending one car into the center divider and another onto the right shoulder.
At least one person was reportedly unconscious at the scene and another party sustained injuries as well. Paramedics responded to the accident, but the condition of those involved is unknown. The accident remains under open investigation as authorities attempt to determine cause and liability.
