The accident happened around 1:20 pm at a home on McKay Farm Road near Sigmon Dairy Road. A Robinson R44 helicopter owned by Chesapeake Bay Helicopters was surveying a route for a natural gas line when it began experiencing problems before nose diving, striking a home and landing in the front yard.
Both men on board the helicopter were injured, but were reportedly in stable condition. The accident remains under investigation at this time by several agencies as they attempt to determine what caused the helicopter to crash.
