NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA (March 27, 2017) – A 16 year old boy had his foot amputated by a train on Monday afternoon in Newport News, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 2:52 pm in the 500 block of Onancock Trail. A teen was apparently trying to cross the tracks when he was struck by a freight train.
The teenager was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
