The accident happened around 4:05 pm on Thursday at the intersection of Newport Coast Drive and Provence. A male bicyclist was involved in a collision with a Newport Beach police cruiser for an unknown reason.

Paramedics responded to the scene to tend to any injuries sustained by the bicyclist, but his current condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
