The accident happened on August 19th on Raymond Boulevard. Joseph Barthelus was driving a NJ Transit bus west on Raymond Boulevard when he broadsided a second NJ Transit bus driven by James Roberts at the Broad Street intersection.
Jesy Garcia, a passenger on one of the buses, was tragically killed as a result of injuries sustained in the collision and 17 others were injured. 14 of those, plus the family of Jesy Garcia, have filed a lawsuit against New Jersey Transit for $115 million. The investigation is still ongoing.
