25 year old Sophie Yu was standing on the subway motor platform waiting for her train on Wednesday around 1:30 when she fainted for an unknown reason, falling onto the train tracks. The conductor saw her fall and tried to slam on his brakes, but was unable to stop the train in time.

Sophie Yu tragically lost her right arm and leg in the accident, and was rushed to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The accident remains under investigation, as it is unknown what caused Sophie to faint in the first place.
